“ I started following AKD kitchen on Instagram when they first opened in Langley. Didn’t have a chance to try as it was too far away from where I live, and their ramen always sold out very soon. Im so glad they now opens in New West! We ordered Ajitama Ramen, Tomato Chicken Curry and Chicken Karaage. I’m a big fan of their ramen, and I have to say their ajitama is sooooooo good!! My husband enjoyed his chicken curry as well. Very comfy environment and friendly service. Fantastic location as it’s just downstairs from the New West Station. It’s a pity they closes at 7pm, for someone works until 6 it’s almost impossible to have dinner there. I’ll still try going back on weekends though! ”

“ I love the pork chasiu ramen with garlic sauce while my husband enjoys his ramen with spicy sauce. Rich & hearty broth. We both like the perfectly cooked extra egg. The honey lemon soda was a great combination of bitter, sweet and sour flavor, very refreshing on a warm day. They have clean bathrooms. Happy to come back. ”

“ After coming back from Japan, I was craving for great Japanese ramen. My husband helped to find this one in New Westminster. The restaurant sells ramen, rice with curry sauce plus a type of meat, omelette rice, and etc. It was awesome! We ordered Oyako ramen as well as curry beef croquette with rice and salad for lunch. I personally would highly recommend the ramen. It was delicious. The ambience was cozy and comfortable. It was a more modern ramen restaurant unlike the traditional ramen design restaurant. The customer service was great. Servers were Japanese and they were very friendly and polite. Pricing was reasonable. Of course it’s always more expensive to eat ramen overseas vs ones in Japan. However, the quality of the ramen was above average and I loved it. I would like to come back and try some other dishes next time. There was a pay parking lot near by. It’s a bit hard to find street parking but parking was not too too expensive here. Plus, people could also take transit like buses or sky trains to come here. ”

“ One of the best ramen places in the Lower Mainland, certainly one of the top local independent ramen joints. The menu is concise, with ramen, curry, and appetizers. Service is nice and efficient, and atmosphere is very clean and open. Broth is creamy and rich without feeling fatty. Noodles are thin and firm. The chashu is the thick meaty sort of tough type, not the thin fatty melt in your mouth type. I got the original ramen, with miso base (1) and spicy (0.70). The spice level is a satisfying medium that is hot but still enjoyable. It was a pleasantly surprising experience because the modern minimalistic look made me think it was going to be just another hipster shop but they have mastered the rich broth. I will definitely be back! ”

“ Ordered the Ajitama ramen black, according to the menu it should be garlicky but I couldn’t taste the garlic. The broth taste light yet makes you want more. Not quite the typical ramen I’ve tried in Vancouver but I like this. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Look forward to try the red version next time. ”

“ This is a neat and cozy Japanese restaurant where you can drop by for casual lunch and dinner. Dishes were tasty and there were condiments on side like red peppers, roasted garlics, and sesame seed which added to the flavours. Waitress was also professional and pleasant. However parking’s not easy as this is located in a same building with sky train station. ”

“ First time coming here tonight since we just want to try out new ramen joint we haven't been to before. Their menu is really small which is a good thing! Quality over quantity. I got the Ajitama Black (soy based) with added spicy option and it was delicious. It had enough richness to it without overwhelmingly so thick and just enough heat that it doesn't kill you. My husband got the Meat Lovers Red, which is Miso based and it's equally as good! You can't go wrong picking either black or red base, but don't be fooled thinking the red base is richer and the black base is plainer. The black base has just as much depth of flavor! I also have to mention the chicken chashu. It was the other most memorable piece of the bowl beside the OMG perfectly cooked egg. That chicken chashu looks like nothing much but it's so tender, juicy, damn tasty. The one that's somewhat lacking on the table was the chicken karaage. It was a little dry and somewhat chewy. But I'm fine writing that one off. Will definitely comeback to get their ramen again and try out other dishes ”
